css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1624024206060{margin-top: 20px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Ottawa Classical Choir was founded in 2006 by Maestro Michel Brousseau and co-founder, soprano Maria Knapik to offer amateur singers the opportunity to work and sing with professional artists, and to offer the Ottawa community access to high quality classical concerts.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The OCC&#8217;s repertoire focuses on classical music. Over the years we have sung great works from the classical repertoire such as Verdi&#8217;s Requiem, presented at the National Arts Center, Handel&#8217;s Messiah, as well as Stravinsky&#8217;s Symphony of Psalms and Carl Orff&#8217;s Carmina Burana. We also broke new ground by bringing rarely performed works to Ottawa music lovers and music lovers. We presented the North American premiere of the Mass of Deliverance by French composer Th\u00e9odore Dubois which the members subsequently recorded under the ATMA label.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In addition, OCC members had the opportunity to perform abroad. Our members have performed at the famous Carnegie Hall in New York, as well as in Italy and France, Romania, Scotland and England.
